Here’s a complete lesson plan on teaching the strategy of wearing someone down and the script of Scene Four of Her Own Worst Enemy for students to follow along with. In this scene, Aida’s father is driving Van, Aida’s friend, home. While in the car, Aida’s father tries to convince her to audition for the Julliard School. There are great examples of how we express irritation, use hyperbole, and wear people down.

And if you like this lesson plan, be sure to check out the whole play, Her Own Worst Enemy, as well as the rest of the Integrated Skills Through Drama series or our Drama resources page for everything you need to put on plays in class.
